Privacy policy
Last updated: 20 October 2026
This is a translation of the Italian original, which prevails in case of discrepancy.
This notice explains which personal data are processed when you use Convert Any File, why, and with what safeguards, in accordance with Articles 13 and 14 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”) and Italian Legislative Decree 196/2003 as amended by Legislative Decree 101/2018.
In short
- The files you convert are never uploaded or stored: processing happens on your device.
- You don’t need an account and we collect no data to use the converter.
- If you write to us, we process the data you send only to reply.
- The site shows no advertising and uses no profiling or analytics cookies.
1. Data controller
converteveryfile@gmail.com
Italy, CS
Email: converteveryfile@gmail.com
2. The files you convert
The files you select (images, documents, videos, audio, archives and so on) are read and processed exclusively by your browser, using JavaScript and WebAssembly code downloaded from this website. They are not transmitted to the controller or to third parties, they are not stored, and they disappear from memory when you close or reload the page. The same applies to the passwords you enter to protect or open a PDF. For this reason the controller does not process any personal data that the files may contain.
Some features (text recognition, HEIC photos, fonts for PDFs) download additional components from the same server that hosts the site, only at the moment you use them: again, no file is sent.
If you use the “From a link” option, it’s your browser that downloads the file directly from the website hosting it: that website receives the request (including your IP address) under its own privacy policy. The controller receives neither the link nor the file.
3. Browsing data
As with any website, the server hosting the pages automatically records some technical information (IP address, date and time of the request, requested page, browser and operating system) in its logs. This is needed to ensure the service works and is secure, and to detect abuse.
- Legal basis: the controller’s legitimate interest in the security of the site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Retention: no more than 30 days, unless needed to investigate offences.
4. Data you send through the contact form or by email
If you write to us, we process your name, email address and the content of your message to reply and handle your request. Providing them is optional, but without them we can’t reply.
- Legal basis: steps taken at the request of the data subject (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and, for general enquiries, our legitimate interest in replying (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Retention: as long as needed to handle the request and in any case no longer than 24 months.
5. Cookies and local storage
The site uses the browser’s local storage only to remember the theme, the language and some tool settings: these are technical tools that don’t require consent (Art. 122 of Italian Legislative Decree 196/2003). There is no advertising, no profiling cookies and no third-party analytics. The full list is in the cookie policy.
6. Who receives the data
- The site’s hosting provider, acting as data processor.
- Any service that delivers the contact form messages, as data processor.
Data are neither sold nor disclosed to the public.
Donations take place on Ko-fi, an external service that handles them as an independent controller under its own privacy policy. We only receive the data Ko-fi makes available to the recipient (for example the supporter’s name, message and email) and use it solely to handle the donation and thank you, keeping it for no longer than 24 months.
7. Your rights
At any time you can request access to your data, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interest (Articles 15-22 GDPR). You can withdraw your consent without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before. Write to converteveryfile@gmail.com: we will reply within one month.
If you believe the processing infringes the GDPR, you can lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (www.garanteprivacy.it) or with the authority of the country where you live or work.
8. Minors
The service requires no personal data to be used and shows no advertising.
